Jesus Christ! I just realized it’s been almost a month since my birthday, and I still haven’t taken time to post my birtdhay gifts! Can you believe that? Thankfully, it’s not too late to correct that – I still have a few months left before my next birthday comes around LOL
This year, my birthday gifts were all fashion-related… and extremely cool ;)
Spiked creepers
I’ve wanted to have a pair of creepers for a veeeeery long time, and this particular pair is SO amazing I don’t even know what to say *O* Plus, they have a double platform, which makes them extra-cool. I love ‘normal’ creepers as well, but these are just so edgy and threatening! They strongly remind me of Juria Nakagawa (one of Harajuku’s current street-style superstars) and her love for spiky platform shoes. I can easily imagine her wearing these, and I can’t wait to start doing the same :D
Silver jacket
This cool silver biker jacket is pretty futuristic. It makes me think of Bill Kaulitz back in 2007-2008. I’m not sure if he had one but… oh, wait… :D
Denim cowboy jacket
100% genuine cowboy kitsch. It makes me think of something Dolly Parton might have worn back in the 70s… or maybe right now! LOL It’s a little big for me, but it still looks great, and it will fit perfectly with my future cowboy looks :D
Sons Of Anarchy T-shirt
This one doesn’t need much explanation. It’s an authentic Sons Of Anarchy T-shirt! *___* You all know how much I love Sons Of Anarchy. Now, the rest of the world will know it too :D
Bizarre futuristic leggings
These leggings are really curious. I still don’t know if I’ll be able to wear them out in street or not, but you can be well sure I’ll try ;) These totally remind me of Bill’s gothic chicken (that’s how some fans called it LOL) look at the DSQUARED fashion show. He reused those trousers many times after that, and even wore them on stage during the (extremely short) South American leg of the Welcome To Humanoid City Tour.
My leggings also have a retro-futuristic 70s feel (which is present in the outfits DSQUARED designed for that tour as well) that takes me back to the cosmic age, when Lemmy Kilmister played in Hawkwind and KISS were still a young band trying to make it big.
Nails Inc. London Crackle Effect top coat& Magnetic Polish
More nail polish for my collection! The first one is very similar to Opi’s Shatter top coat, but it has a more liquid consistence, which makes the cracks a little bit thinner, even though the difference is hard to appreciate at first sight :P
[Opi on the left, Nails inc. on the right ;)]
The second one looks pretty interesting. I’ve often seen it advertised in British magazines, and I’ve always felt curious about it, but I never thought I’d actually have the chance to try it, since they don’t sell it in Spain. I only hope my first experience with it won’t turn out to be a disaster! LOL
24 years don’t feel so heavy on days like these ;)
For the second time, I got the Liebster Blog Award – in this occasion, from Ducky^^

2. I’ve just turned 24, which means this is my third Year of the Snake! :D
3. I’m reading a 608 page book in German (it’s a Japanese book by Natsuo Kirino, which makes it even better) without using the dictionary. Surprisingly, I can even follow the plot! I can’t say I understand everything, but I definitely know what’s happening, which makes me extremely proud! I’ve read until page 331 so far ^^
4. The top 3 most played songs on my MP3 player right now are Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You by Led Zeppelin, Brotherhood Of Man by Motörhead and Problem Child by AC/DC.
5. The first band I ever saw live was Apocalyptica, back in 2005. They played in a relatively small venue (1000 people capacity), but they had a pretty awesome show, and their live performance was killer :D
6. I had my wildest experience with drugs at an Iron Maiden concert. People around me were smoking so much weed I got intoxicated. When I finally came out of there, I was completely disoriented. I couldn’t even find my parents’ car, which got me really frustrated. In that moment, I didn’t even understand what was going on. All I knew was reality wasn’t working quite the way it should LOL Thankfully, the effect wore off after a while, and I got back home safely.
7. I have a Washburn PS 1800 and I loooove it :D There’s no other guitar for me.
8. I’m a bit of a compulsive collector. I collect shampoos (I think I have more than 30 different shampoos in my bathroom right now! LOL) and nail polish. If it comes in different colours (or smells), I need to have them all! I also collect Sephora bathroom products, but I only buy one exemplar of each product at a time :P
9. I really love drawing, but I can never find the time to do it with as much dedication as I’d like >_<
10. I can’t wait for the new SimCity to come out *O*
11. I go to bed later and later every day. I keep trying to do something about it, but I just can’t go against my nature. Eventually, I’ll end up going to bed so late it will be ‘early’ again :P
Answer the 11 questions that the nominating blogger asked you
1. Is there any Indie J Rock band you really like?
My knowledge of Japanese rock bands is limited to Dir En Grey, so I think not >_<
2. Tea is everything. So - which kind of tea is your favorite?
Earl Grey, probably ^^ I’m a fan of black tea, in general, and I also love a lot of different herbal infusions :P The thing that’s a little bit of a handicap for me is that I don’t like green tea T___T As a fan of Japanese culture, that makes me feel really embarrassed, but I just don’t like it :$
3. McDonald’s or Burger King? And why? :>
McDonald’s. I’ve never been to a Burger King, so I can’t really judge it (LOL), but, for some reason, my body always leads me back to the clown ^O^
4. Is there a Japanese street style you absolutely don't like?
I think not. I can find things I like in every style of Japanese street fashion I know. Even if there are many things I could never wear myself, I still love how they look on the people who do ^^ Probably, the style that connects less with me is gyaru, but I can’t say I dislike it :P
5. Which is / was your favorite subject at school?
Music! It was the one thing that always came easy to me. I never had problems doing homework (we didn’t get much homework, really :P), and I didn’t have to study for the exams. Plus, my music teacher sincerely appreciated me, which was something very rare. Unfortunately, we dedicated much less time to studying music than to other subjects >_<
6. Choose: One year without your favorite music or one year without your friends?
One year without my friends, totally. I see my friends very rarely, anyway, so I don’t think I would notice the difference (LOL).
7. Do you have a favorite movie? If so, which is your favourite?
I already talked about Terminator II the previous time, so I’ll say The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Amazing movie, amazing soundtrack, amazing actors, amazing director. Probably the best film ever shot.
8. Is there any food you couldn't live without?
Popcorn! I eat popcorn ALL the time! *O*
9. Which book is the best you've read till now?
That’s hard to tell, but it’s probably Harry Potter. I read the first book when I was 12(?) and I’ve loved every Harry Potter book ever since :)
10. Is there anything you really want to achieve this year?
Finishing my demo! I really hope I’ll be able to make it!
11. Do you have a favourite TV series? If so, which is your favourite?
Nominate 11 new bloggers (they must have less than 200 followers) and link their blogs in your post
This is always the hardest part for me, because I don’t really know too many bloggers who have less than 200 followers >_< I could only come up with four, but it’s still better than the zero I proposed last time!
As you probably know, we had the Grammys a couple of weeks ago. I’ve never been (and I’m still not) a fan of the event, but I decided to watch the live-stream of the red carpet this year. Most of it was quite boring and unimpressive, just as I expected, but there was one thing that caught my attention…
Yeah, that’s right: as you can see, Janelle Monáe was wearing a wide-brimmed hat extremely similar to mine! :D
She was not only wearing a cool hat, but she also paired it with a tailcoat. The whole thing reminded me of my Black Death Mariachi outfit a lot! How awesome is that? :D Of course, I would change the shoes… but, hey – nothing is perfect! :P
[Janelle is wearing an Against Nature vest and shirt, a Moschino jacket, a Ralph Lauren hat, and carrying a Jimmy Choo clutch]
The other surprise of the night turned out to be 2 Chainz. I don’t know much about him or about how he usually looks (aside from the fact that he always wears two chains LOL), but I have to say that his Versace outfit was totally impressive. He would have made a nice pair with Janelle Monáe! LOL
[2 Chainz wore a Versace cape and Christian Louboutin shoes]
It’s curious that my last year’s favourite look was also a Versace. Of course, I’m talking about Nicki Minaj’s controversial Red Riding Hood/nun dress – imitation Pope included! The whole thing ended up being quite superficial, but I still think that was a cool idea… and you have to admit it’s the best Nicki Minaj has ever looked! LOL
PS. Do you like my new header? :P I still can’t believe I made it entirely with my cell phone! I edited the picture with Pixlr-o-matic and added the text with Aviary. How awesome is that? LOL I’m still amazed that I have apps on my phone that do things I don’t even know how to do with Photoshop ^O^
It’s been a month since I made my last post, so I’ve been thinking that maybe it was about time to show you my New Year’s Eve photo session for 2012-2013, don’t you think?
I put up this outfit back in December. I needed to figure out what to wear for Christmas Eve (I later reused it for New Year’s :P), and I had to do it really fast.
I didn’t even know where to start. All I had were some abstract ideas based on some pics I had seen the night before. I had been looking trough the Diesel Black Gold Pre-Fall 2013collection, and I still had those looks circling around my head, so I decided I wanted to go for something similar: metallic skinny jeans, a shirt, a tight blazer and biker boots… all put together in some sort of tough dandy look.
The problem about starting an outfit from an abstract idea (opposite to starting from a specific piece of clothing, as I usually do) was that I somehow needed to transport what I saw in my head to the real world. I wanted to start from something in a flashy metallic colour… preferably something that I could use for a cool total look. At first, I kept thinking about blue and purple, just because that was the what I remembered from the Diesel Black Gold collection, but that didn’t take anywhere. Then, the more than obvious answer just popped in my mind: golden jeans!
But I couldn’t build an outfit on jeans alone: I still needed something to match them. I thought a golden blazer would be perfect, but I just couldn’t remember if I actually had one or I had just imagined it (it happens to me a lot, so I have to be careful LOL). Thankfully, my memory hadn’t played a trick on me: I did have one… and it turned out to be even better than I remembered it :D
I got it a couple of years ago, and I had never given it a proper use. I’ve always thought this blazer was very funny, because it reminded me of the Metallicats (Metallica playing crooners in the booklet of their covers album Garage, Inc.), which made me laugh quite a lot. But the most important thing about this blazer is that it’s wonderfully tailored and looks flashy as hell.
Once I had the two fundamental pieces of the outfit, the rest was going to be easier. It took me just a few seconds to remember I also had a gold and black shirt somewhere…
I got this one from Humana. It looks pretty cool, even though I have some issues with its shape, especially because it lacks an upper button (it’s not that it’s missing – it’s just not designed to have one) – which is something I find really uncomfortable, since I’m not a cleavage person –, and it doesn’t have buttons on the sleeves either. I had never worn it before mainly because of that, but I decided that I could risk it this time. I just put the three pieces together, and the result was an instant success :D
After getting the basics in place, all I had to do was pick up the shoes and some accessories… and solve the problem of the lacking upper button in my shirt, of course.
At first, I tried putting on my black New Rock biker boots – following my original Diesel Black Gold concept – but I didn’t like the way they looked with the jeans. I immediately realized I had to go for something dandier, so I picked my old Pons Quintana shoes.
I’ve had these shoes for quite a few years already, and they are great – they’re probably not the easiest shoes to walk in, but they’re still great (LOL). For someone who doesn’t use stilettos, this is the closest to high heels I can get, and I have to say I really like the feeling… every once in a while ;)
Surprisingly, this outfit didn’t seem to need any accessorizing. I even thought about leaving my head uncovered, but I just couldn’t resist the idea of trying how my wide-brimmed Spanish hat would look with the whole thing, and, as you can see, I finally kept it ;)
When I saw myself in the mirror for the first time, I couldn’t help thinking about the Yves Saint Laurent – excuse me: Saint Laurent (or YSLA, as I call it since Hedi Slimane decided to transfer himself to the beautiful city of Los Angeles LOL) – Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection, and I thought that was quite funny. I enjoyed the dandy vibe of that collection (typical Saint Laurent, I assume), but everything had a lady twist that was just too much for me. I like my own version much better… and it’s a bit cheaper too :P
I dealt with the missing button in the last minute (quite literally). The guests had already walked through the door while I was still trying to figure out what to do with my shirt. In a strike of inspiration, I wrapped a long black necklace around my neck like a tie, hoping that it would hold the two parts of the shirt together. I didn’t have time to test it, so I just walked out like that. Surprisingly, it worked!
Since I already knew what I was going to wear on New Year’s Eve, I decided that, for once in my life, I could get my nails to match my outfit. I did them that same afternoon, and the result was really cool. I used my black glitter (I call it Coca-Cola LOL) nail polish as a base coat and add my essence gold glitter nail polish on top, in order to get a real black gold manicure. The result turned out to be even better than I had expected, and it looked surprisingly Japanese, which made me immensely happy :D
The funy thing is that, about a week later, I found this look while browsing through Kenzo’s Fall 2013 Menswear collection:
What can I say? It’s obvious that I’m a trendsetter B-) (LMAO)
